Overview

Lamkhaga Pass — Connect Two Himalayan Worlds

A challenging expedition connecting the green valleys of Kinnaur with the stark landscapes of Garhwal, through one of India's most remote high-altitude passes. This crossing bridges two distinct worlds — both culturally and geographically.

Traversing from the lush apple orchards and Buddhist-influenced villages of Kinnaur into the rugged, glacier-carved valleys of Uttarakhand, the Lamkhaga Pass trek offers a raw wilderness experience. At 5,282 metres, the pass rewards you with sweeping views of the Bandarpunch and Swargarohini ranges before descending into the remote Govind Pashu Vihar National Park.

The best windows are late spring (May–June) when the valleys are green and the pass is snow-free, and early autumn (September–October) when the skies are crystal clear. Monsoon months (July–August) bring unpredictable weather and slippery terrain. Winter (November–April) sees heavy snowfall, making the pass impassable.
